A few days ago we had been within sunny southern California for a few days conducting interviews with chose famous person which includes a former priest and his wife and partners with pretty well-known last names. We also taped a segment of the television show, Way of life Magazine, that will be upon in their upcoming season. It was a fun and productive trip!

As our readers understand, we have been interviewing successfully married people on six of the planet’s seven continents for nearly 3 decades. We have learned significantly regarding productive marriage during the interviews.

There are lots of recurring themes within the best marriages. These pervasive themes only start with the "Seven Secrets." Over the past year - and including these interviews in California - we feel we might have gleaned another "secret" about excellent marriages. Here’s what we are listening to.

When you pose this query to the best marriages all over the world you hear rather constant answers - "If you had the option of spending most of your time with an additional human being, whatever the conditions, who would it be?" The answer is nearly always the exact same! "My husband."

The most happily married couples we have questioned tell us that they would rather spend more time with their spouse than with any other living human being. And when provided the selection of spending an evening with their spouse Including other people, the happiest couples will tell you which hands down, they would rather stand JUST with their spouse!

Oh yea, positive, they have family, friends, and work associates that like to be with. Most happily married people do. But the simple the fact is this - given the choice, successfully married couples would rather end up being just with each other.

So what performs this all mean? Does it mean there is an "8th Secret" for a prosperous marriage? Do we, the superior doctors, need to rethink our message regarding excellent marriages around the world? Maybe so.
